Beautywood by Bright

The underbrush was cleared last autumn.

Tall oak trees, now so visible,

formed heart shaped connections

with their unpredictable branches.

Strong, enduring many changes,

they reached revealingly into foggy skies.

Like honored officers owning,

owing and knowing the land,

bringing their songs and ancient sorrows,

while opening their minds to all there is to know.
